PokerStars Sunday Million 20th Anniversary Comes With $5M Guaranteed

The PokerStars Sunday Million, a prominent weekly online poker tournament, is commemorating its 20th anniversary by hosting a Progressive Knockout (PKO) edition with a $5 million guaranteed prize pool.

While Phase 2 of this event is scheduled for September 6, Phase 1 qualifiers have commenced and will continue for ten weeks, starting June 28. Players retain their chip stacks from Phase 1 upon advancing to Phase 2, and re-entry is permitted.

Each Phase 1 entry costs $109, providing players with 10,000 chips and 10-minute levels, beginning with blinds at 40/80/10a. Late registration is open for 100 minutes, allowing up to three re-entries. Play in each Phase 1 concludes when 3% of the field remains, with these survivors moving to Phase 2 at 8:05 p.m. BST on September 6.

As a PKO tournament, participants can earn bounties during Phase 1. Each player starts with a $25 bounty; eliminating an opponent yields 50% of their bounty, while the other half is added to the eliminator's own bounty. Satellites for the Sunday Million 20th Anniversary, starting at $0.55, are available in the PokerStars lobby from June 27.

Alternative qualification routes include $0.75 and $4 Sunday Million Spin & Go tournaments, which offer satellite tickets and direct seats to $109 Phase 1 events.
